Strategic Communications Counsel

When the stakes are too high
for an agency.

Organizations facing high-stakes communications moments need a senior operator who has actually been there — not a team managed from a distance. A partner in the room who holds the standard.

The Moment

Every organization faces a moment when getting the narrative wrong has lasting consequences. Program launches. Congressional scrutiny. Reputation crises. These moments require a different kind of counsel.

The Difference

Seneca Partners is not an agency. There are no junior account managers, no retainer bloat, no committee sign-offs. And there are no comfortable answers when the honest one is harder to hear. Senior counsel means telling you what your situation requires — not what confirms what you already believe.

The Standard

Communications excellence is a discipline — not a one-time event. The organizations that perform best under pressure have built systems, trained their people, and stress-tested their narrative long before the moment arrives.

Built on the work.
Proven in the room.

Seneca Partners was founded on a simple observation: the moments that define organizations require a partner who has done this work — not studied it, not advised on it from a distance, but stood in it when the outcome was uncertain.

Our founder is a former Pentagon spokesperson with over 25 years of strategic communications experience across the Department of Defense, Capitol Hill, and the defense industrial base. He has navigated Congressional scrutiny, shaped billion-dollar program narratives, and built communications infrastructure for a newly public defense and space enterprise from the ground up.

The F-35 program — the most scrutinized weapons program in modern history — saw its media narrative shift from 54% negative coverage to 93% neutral-or-positive. That outcome came from a disciplined methodology: clear messaging architecture, consistent spokesperson preparation, and a long-term narrative strategy built to withstand sustained pressure. That methodology is what Seneca Partners brings to every engagement.

Seneca Partners works with a small number of clients at any given time. Every engagement is direct, senior, and built around your specific situation. That includes the conversations most advisors avoid.

"It is not that I'm brave — it is that I know what is important."
Seneca — Epistulae Morales

Lucius Annaeus Seneca advised emperors, wrote in moments of maximum consequence, and held his principles under conditions that cost him everything. He understood that counsel without conviction is noise — and that the most valuable thing an advisor can offer is the truth an organization hasn't yet been willing to hear. That is the tradition this practice draws from.
